Floral Foam or Oasis as it is commonly called is the basis of many flower arrangements. It supplies the flowers in the arrangement with the water and food they need so can extend the life of your cut flowers when properly used. The reverse is also true.

It is available is all manner of forms - bricks, balls, letters and just about any other shape you can imagine

Always make sure your containers are meticulously clean. Fill a container or sink with enough water to cover the foam you have.

Flower food can be added to the soak water if desired.

Don't be in a hurry, drop the foam into the water and let it sink. This way is absorbs the water at it's own pace. if you push it under the water air pockets will form with the inevitable result of flowers not having water to drink.

Once the foam is well soaked remove it from the water, cut it to the desired shape and trim off any excess, secure it into your container and you're ready to arrange!
